Last updated: 20 August 2026
These are the terms that apply when you buy something from us. We've written them the way we'd explain them across the market table — plainly, and without a wall of capital letters. If anything here doesn't sit right, email us before you order and we'll answer straight.
Who you're buying from
Always Something Sauce is the store side of Always Something Farm — five acres at 3,000 feet in West Point, California. It is two brothers, Josh and Zach. There is no call centre; when you email, one of us reads it.
- Always Something Farm — PO Box 416, West Point, CA 95255
- [email protected] — 608-669-0086
Placing an order
Adding something to your cart doesn't reserve it. Your order is complete once your payment goes through and you receive a confirmation email.
Once in a while we may have to decline or refund an order — usually because a sauce sold out between your click and our packing bench, because the produce you chose didn't survive the week, or because we can't reasonably get a box to your address. If that happens we will email you and refund you in full. We won't take your money and leave you guessing.
You need to be old enough to enter into a contract where you live, and the payment method has to be yours to use.
Prices and payment
Sauces are $10 for a 5 oz bottle. Produce is priced by the unit shown on the farm stand — by the bunch, bag, or pound — and changes week to week with the harvest.
Payment is handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe directly; they never touch our website, and we never see or store your card number. We accept the cards and wallets Stripe offers at checkout.
Prices are in US dollars and can change, but the price shown at checkout is the price you pay. We don't add California sales tax to sauce or produce — food products sold for consumption at home are exempt, and everything we sell today is food. If we ever add non-food merchandise, that is taxable, and the tax will be shown at checkout before you pay.
Shipping — sauce only
We ship sauce from West Point, California in USPS flat-rate boxes, usually within 3–5 business days of your order, with delivery typically 3–7 business days after that. One to six bottles ship for $15, seven to twelve for $22, and larger orders travel in more than one box. We choose the box that fits your order, so the exact cost is shown at checkout before you pay.
Once a box is with USPS the delivery is in their hands, and their timelines are estimates rather than promises. If a box goes astray, tell us — see returns, below.
We ship within the United States only.
Free local pickup
If you're local, pickup is free, and there are two ways to do it:
- Farm pickup in West Point — we'll arrange a time by email once you've ordered.
- Market pickup — Sundays at the Murphys Park Farmers Market, or Tuesdays in West Point.
Free pickup is offered at checkout only for ZIP codes in Amador, Calaveras, and Tuolumne counties. That isn't us being precious — it's the only way to stop someone three states away taking the shipping cost off an order they will never collect. If you're local and your ZIP isn't recognised, email us and we'll sort it out by hand.
Please collect within a reasonable time. Produce especially will not wait — if you can't make the pickup you arranged, email us and we'll work something out.
Produce is pickup only
We do not ship produce. Vegetables picked at 3,000 feet do not survive a flat-rate box, and we are not going to sell you something that arrives as compost.
If your cart contains produce, checkout offers pickup only — there is no shipping option to click by mistake. Produce is sold as it is harvested, so what's on the farm stand this week may well be gone next week.
Local delivery is sometimes possible by arrangement. It is not a checkout option — email us and ask.
It's food
Our sauces are fermented and bottled by hand, in small batches, in our kitchen in West Point, California.
They contain none of the nine major food allergens: milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, soy, sesame, fish, or shellfish. They are made in a home kitchen which — like any home kitchen — also handles other foods. If you have a food allergy, email us before you order and we'll answer straight.
Refrigerate after opening. Use your own judgement about heat — these are hot sauces, and the habanero is not a beginner's bottle.
Returns, refunds, and things that arrive broken
The short version: if something isn't right, email us and we'll make it right.
- Broken or leaking on arrival — send a photo within 14 days and we'll replace it or refund it, your choice. Don't ship broken glass back to us.
- Wrong or missing item — email within 14 days and we'll send the right one at no cost.
- Never arrived — give it two days past the tracking, check with your neighbours and your mail carrier, then email us and we'll work it out.
- Changed your mind — unopened bottles only, within 30 days, with return postage on you. Email us first so we know it's coming.
- Opened bottles and produce can't be taken back, because it's food. If you opened it and genuinely didn't like it, email us anyway and we'll talk.
Approved refunds go back to the card you paid with, and usually land within 5–10 business days. We'll email you when we send one.
Cancelling or changing an order
Email us as soon as you can. If the box hasn't gone out, we can almost always change or cancel it. Once it's with USPS, treat it as a return.
What's on this site
We work hard to keep the sauces, prices, produce, and market days accurate, and the weekly produce list comes straight from our own stock. Even so, things sell out and typos happen. If a price or a listing is obviously wrong, we aren't obliged to honour it — we'll email you and sort it out rather than quietly charging you the wrong amount.
The photographs are of our actual sauce and our actual farm. Produce varies with the season; what you collect will look like it grew outside, because it did.
Your information
We collect only what we need to take your payment and get your order to you — your name, email address, delivery address, and what you ordered. Your card details go to Stripe, never to us. We don't sell your information to anyone, and we won't send you marketing you didn't ask for. Ask us what we hold and we'll tell you.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of the State of California, and any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts serving Calaveras County, California.
Changes to these terms
We'll update this page when something changes, and the date at the top will say when. The terms that apply to your order are the ones published here when you place it.
Talking to us
